Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
GOAT (“we”, “the site”) is a just-for-fun voting site at pickthegoat.com. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the polls. We do not require an account and do not ask for your name, email, or any personal profile.
What we store
- A voting cookie. When you first visit, we set a random, anonymous identifier in a cookie named
goat_vid. It exists only to stop the same browser from voting twice on the same match-up. It is not linked to your identity and is not shared. - Your votes and comments. The choices you make and any comments you post are stored so we can show live tallies and threads. Comments are public.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and prevent abuse. We use a one-way hash of your IP only to limit spam and duplicate reports — we do not store your raw IP for tracking.
Cookies & advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Service providers
We rely on a few third parties to operate the site: a hosting provider (to serve the app), a managed database (to store votes and comments), and Google AdSense (advertising). Automated filtering — and, where enabled, an automated moderation service — helps keep comments safe. These providers process data only to provide their service.
Your choices & rights
You can clear the goat_vidcookie at any time through your browser settings, which resets your voting history on this device. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access or delete data associated with you. Because we don’t collect personal identifiers, we may be unable to link stored votes to a specific person, but you can contact us with any request.
Children
GOAT is a general-audience entertainment site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the site evolves; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Questions? Email contact@pickthegoat.com.
